TO ACCOUNT NO. 10-65 $10:,046.92 4054-12 $9,90.1 .03 4054-45 $ 145.89 Adopted this 27th day of April , 1976 Mayor ATTEST: �yc/ Clerk r Vily Man ger 0 RESOLUTION N0.76-018 WHEREAS, the City of St. Anthony is a cooperating municipality in the Hennepin County, "urban county" Community Development Block Grant Application; WHEREAS, St. Anthony has approved a 75 unit elderly housing project in the City and desires approval of funding for said project; WHEREAS, the inclusion of said elderly housing project in the Housing Assistance Plan makes St. Anthony not in conformance with the Metropolitan i Council 's policy that at least 60% of subsidized units be for families, the remainder for the elderly; E WHEREAS, sites which are suitable for a family development in the City are extremely limited; WHEREAS, the City is also attempting to meet the housing needs of the j elderly and families through the Section 8 existing housing program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that* the City Council of the City of St. Anthony does hereby declare that the Metropolitan Council 's policy that at least 60% of subsidized housing in municipalities be for families poses an unreasonable burden on the City and is not consistent with good planning practices. FURTHERMORE, the City Council of the City of St. Anthony urges that the Metropolitan Council adopt a more flexible policy on family-elderly subsidized housing ratios, taking into consideration the availability of sites in a community, community size, the ability to provide public services and the availability of other necessary amenities., .Adopted: 4/27/76 A 144�� Mayor ATTEST: Clerk ty M ager Voting on the resolution: Aye: Miedtke, Sundland , Stauffer, Haik Nay: None Absent: Sauer
