RESOLUTION 76 - 047
A RESOLUTION REGARDING TIMING OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS
LOCATED AT SILVER LAKE ROAD AND SILVER LANE
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of St. Anthony has , following
numerous complaints , reviewed the timing or cycling of the signals
at Silver Lane and Silver Lake Road and has concluded there is in-
adequate time for youngsters and elderly people to cross the street
safely during the walk cycle and,
WHEREAS the turning movement signals are actuated during the walk
cycle causing further danger or fear of danger to pedestrians and ,
WHEREAS the City has been informed that the signals could be cycled
to allow more time for walking and to not allow turning during the
walk cycle.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
• St. Anthony requests that Ramsey County alter the timing of said
signals to allow pedestrians to cross a minimum of three fourths of
the street before the signal allows turning movements on the amber
flashing "don ' t walk" sign accuates .
