A RESOLUTION ASSENTING TO THE
INCLUSION OF S.T . ANTHONY IN A
CABLE SERVICE TERRITORY AS PRO-
POSED BY THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE
WHEREAS , the City of St. Anthony is considering making possible
the provision of cable television services to its citizens; and
WHEREAS , Chapter 238 of- the -Minnesota State Laws has authorized
the Minnesota Cable Communications Board to specify the procedures
of franchising cable communications companies; and
WHEREAS , the Minnesota Cable Communications Board has required,
in 4 MCAR 4 . 111 , that a Cable Service Territory must be approved
by the Minnesota Cable Communications Board prior to any fran-
chising agreement; and
WHEREAS , the City of Roseville has declared an - intention of estab-
lishing a Cable Service Territory which would include the cities
of Roseville, Arden Hills, Falcon Heights., Lauderdale, Little
Canada, Mounds View, New Brighton, North Oaks , St. Anthony,
Shoreview and Vadnais Heights; and
WHEREAS , the passage of this Resolution will in no way restrict
the right of the City of St. Anthony to determine :
a) whether and/or when cable is brought into the
community;
b) which cable company or companies will be awarded
a franchise by the municipality to provide cable
services within its boundaries;
c) what the specific terms of the franchise ordinance
will be ;
d) whether the municipality. shall enter into a joint
powers agreement with other municipalities , and
what the terms of any such agreement might be;
e) whether the municipality wishes to remain in the
established CST, or to apply to the MCCB for in-
clusion within another proposed CST or another
established adjoining CST.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of St. Anthony assents to the inclusion of the City of St. Anthony
in the Cable Service Territory as proposed by the City of Roseville.
