RESOLUTION 82-017
A RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
AND TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS' FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE
ST. ANTHONY BOULEVARD BRIDGE AND APPROACH
WHEREAS., the consulting engineer retained for the purpose has pre-
pared plans and specifications for the construction of the St. Anthony
Boulevard Bridge and approach and has presented such plans and
specifications to the Council for approval;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE. IT RESOLVED by the City Council of St. Anthony ,
Minnesota:
1. Such plans and specifications are hereby approved.
2. The City Clerk- shall prepare . and. cause to-be inserted in the
official paper and in the Construction Bulletin an advertisement
for bids upon construction under. such.-approved plans and.,spec -fications .
The advertisement shall be. published three (3) times and shall
specify the work to be done, shall state that bids will be opened
and read at 2 :00 P.M. , on May 20 , 1982 , and will be considered by
the City Council at their May 25 , 1982 Council meeting in the
Council Chambers of the City Hall , 3301 Silver Lake Road, and that
no bids shall be considered unless sealed and filed with the Clerk
and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or
certified check payable to the Clerk for 10 per cent of the amount
of such bid.

ST. ANTHONY, MINNESOTA
Notice is hereby given that the City Council- of the City of St-.
Anthony will receive sealedbids for bridge and approach construction
on St. Anthony Boulevard at - the St. Anthony City Hall, 3301 Silver
Lake Road until 2:00 P.M. , CDST, Thursday-, May 20, 1982, at which
time they will be ..publicly opened and read aloud.
Approximate major quantities for this project are as follows:
8, 100 S.F. CONCRETE SLAB BRIDGE DECK MIX
147, 000 LB. REINFORCEMENT BARS
1 , 500 TON BITUMINOUS MIXTURES
2, 200 L.F. CONCRETE CURB AND GUTTER
Plans and specifications, proposal form and contract documents for
this project, as prepared by Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc. , 222
East Little Canada, St. Paul , Minnesota 55117, may be seen at the
St. Anthony City Hall and at the office of the above named Engineers.
Each bid shall be accompanied by bidder' s bond, certified check or
cash deposit in an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of
the amount of the bid which shall be forfeited to the City in the
event the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract.
The City Council reserves the right to retain the deposits of the
three lowest bidders for a period not to exceed forty (40) days
after the date and time set for the opening of bids. No bid may
be withdrawn for a period of forty (40) days after the date and
time set for the opening of bids.
Contractors desiring a copy of the proposal form, plans and
specifications may obtain them from the office of the above-named
Engineers upon payment for a deposit of $30. 00 all of which will
be refunded to all bona fide bidders, providing said plans and
specifications are returned in good condition within fifteen (15)
days after the date set for the opening of bids.
The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to
• waive irregularities and informalities therein, and further
reserves the right to award the Contract in the best interests of
the City.

We are sending to you under separate cover two sets of prints and the original
plan for the above referenced project. The plan is approved and you are now
authorized to advance. the status of this project. Please notify this office
• as to the date of letting.
Your request for a grant to construct the above bridge replacement is approved
t.
subject to ,determination of contract cost. Advise this office after opening
of bids as to the amount of the lowest responsible bid so final determination
can be made as 'to the amount of the grant.
Upon determination of the amount of the grant, a resolution by the governing
body agreeing to finance-any cost in excess of the grant is required before
the grant can be authorized.
Submit an Abstract of Bids, Report of State Aid Contract (Form 30172) and
the required resolution to this office.
Ninety-five percent of the grant will be released as soon as possible upon
receipt of the above. Final payment will be made upon completion of the project
which includes the approach grading which is shown on the plan to be completed
by others.
