,• PLANNING BOARD MINUTES
April 15, 1963
The meeting was called to order by the Chairman at 7:30 ,P.M.
Present: Dougherty, Coulter, DiCarlo, Rocks, Skovran, Rosinek and Madden
Absent: Hansen
Merril Stenglein presented final plans for the apartment buildings at Silver
Lake Road and north of the Soo Line Railroad.
Moved by DiCarlo, seconded by Coulter to approve final plans subject to
approval of Engineer and inspector. All in favor.
Motion Carried
Keith Harstad presented three proposed plats to the Board. After lengthy
didcussion the Board recommended that Mr. Harstad return with more information
and revised plat.
Mahlon Sandberg and World Wide of Seattle, Washington, appeared with pre-
liminary plans for construction of an archery range on the property north of
Apache "Plaza. The Board recommended World Wide return with plans after having
them examined and revised by a local architect.
Meeting with Harstad and Nyorld Wide tentatively set for April 29, 1963 at
7:00 P.14.
• Special committee submitted report on naming of streets near Apache Plaza.
Moved by Coulter, seconded by Skovran to name streets as follows:
Access road from Stinson Blvd. into main complex of Apache Plaza to be named
39th Ave. N.E.
Access road from Stinson Blvd. into Arlan's Dept. store to be named 38th
Ave. N.E.
Access road from previously mentioned 39th Ave. N.E. into Arlan's Dept.
store to be named Arlan Place. All in favor.
Motion carried
The Board also considered the naming r.f the access roads to Apache Plaza
from Silver Lake Road. The Board recommends that these access roads be named
as follows:
Access road to-Apache Plaza from Silver Lake Rd. immediately north of the
Soo Line overpass be called 38th Ave. N.E.
Access road to Apache Plaza from Silver Lake Rd. directly west of the
existing 39th Ave. N.E. located east of Silver Lake Rd. be called 39th Ave. N.E.
Access road to the Apache Medical Center from Silver Lake Rd. be called
40th Ave. N.E.

Por. Shun appeared regarding the division of his property which would result
in lots being less than the minimum size established by Ordinance No. 62: As. it
was evident that .the proposed division was the only possible method to make use -
of this land it was
Moved by Skovran, seconded by Rocks to approve the division: A11 in favor.

11r. 11argo appeared with further discussion on the proposed development of a
multiple dwelling comp .ex on Stinson Blvd. between 33rd Ave. N.E. and 34th Ave.
N.E.
Noved by Rocks, seconded by DiCarlo to hold a public hearing on the proposed
rezoning and variation from ordinance requirements. The lublic hearing is to be
held Play 6, 1563 at 7:30 P.11. All in favor.

Mr. Bro mne informed the Board that he ;-lad contacted 11r. Tingum, Sup't. of
Schools, regarding meeting between Planning Board and School Board to discuss
possible location of a new elernntary school. School Board will contact Pyr.
Bromme if such a meeting can be arranged.
