PLANNING BOARD MINUTES
.• February 16, 1905
The meeting was called to order by the acting chairman, Springer,
The following members were,..present:
_Springer, Howitz , Englund, Emond, DiCarlo, Coulter (8 pm)

Upon order of acting chairman, Springer,- reading of the minutes
of January 19, 1965 was waived and the minutes were approved as
presented.
l - Reverend'. N[inehart , representing the Faith Methodist Church,
along with the architects for the church, presented preliminary
site plans ' for the expansion of the Faith Methodist Church.
Upon motion' by,Howitz , seconded by. DiCarlo, it was moved to
hold a public hearing on March 16., 1965, at which time the
preliminary plans will...be considered and to suggest that the
driveways be one way with diagonal parking and that screening
and plantings be-- provided along the entire east and south
edges of the parkiAg lot. These suggested changes, should be
• shown on a revised site plan to be presented at the hearing.
The motion carried unanimously.

20 Max Saliterman presented the preliminary site plans for
rezoning of the following described property from R-1, single
family residential, to Commercial:
2550 Kenzie Terrace_
Comm. at a.'pto in the SEly line of -Old St. Anthony and
Taylors Falls Road, diso 837 '6/10 ft. NEly along same. from
its interseco with-..the Se line of the NWy4 th'? SWly-

Upon motion by Howit'z , seconded by Englund to hold a public
hearing on April -20;.. 1965 subject to re-submission of revised
plans at next regular' meeting. Mr. Saliterman should meet
with the. Bikilding Inspector -and Village Manager and attempt
to resolve parking and traffic patterns.
The motion carried -unanimously.

3. Harlan Walbon presented request for variance in existing
zoning on the following described property located at 33rd
Ave. NE and Highway #8:
Comma at the NE coro of the SE34 tho . W. 439 7/10 ft.
tho So at rt. angles 459 44/100 ft. tho Eo to Nally
line of State Highway No. 63 tho NEly to beg. exc. rd.
Part of Section 6, Twspo 29, Range 230
The requested rezoning is to rezone the Northerly 145 ft, of
said property to R-2, two family dwelling and the balance of
the property to Light Industrial.
Upon motion by Coulter, seconded by Howitt , it was moved to
hold a public hearing on the proposed rezoning on March 16,19650
The motion carried unanimously,
4, James Shaughnessy, Building Inspector, presented a proposed
Ordinance adopting the Uniform Building and Housing Code, and
establishing fire zones. Giving testimony as to the advantages
of the Uniform Building Code were Herbert Meyers, Building
Inspector of Bloomington, and Richard Brooks , Building Inspector
of St. Louis Park,
• After a lengthy discussior�, n�l upon motion by Howitz, seconded
by Springer, it was moved "toA"q opt4pmwith amendments, the entire
Ordinance containing the Uniform Building Code with the addition
of the 1964 Uniform Housing Code.
The motion carried unanimously.
5. James Shaughnessy, Building Inspector, discussed the
possible revision of the Village Ordinance #66 regarding
multiple dwelling land area requirements.
Chairman Coulter requested that the Building Inspector gather
and prepare, in writing, the requirements of other metropolitan
communities and present said information at the next regular
meeting,

member will attend the Council meetings to present minutes:
