PLANNING BOARD MINUTES
SPECIAL MEETING December 5, 1966
1 . The special meeting of the Planning Board was called to order at 7:40 P.M.
by Chairman Howitz.
2. The following members were present:
Louis Howitz, Duane Miedtke, Curtis Englund, Fred Katterheinrich, Dr. Thomas
Emond and Robert Mesenbring.
Absent : Donald Kronk
Also present were Norbert Maher and Harry Lekson
3. a. Upon motion by Miedtke, seconded by Mesenbring, it was moved to rec-
ommend to the Council to grant front and rear yard variance on Lot 1 , Block 1,
St. Anthony Terrace Manor. This is a 10 ft. variance in front and 2 ft. in back.
Motion Carried.
b. Upon motion by Miedtke, seconded by Englund, it was moved to recommend
to the Council to grant rear yard variance of 3 feet on lot 6, block 1, Olsons
Addition. A letter was requested from the neighbor on lot 5 to show that
they are in agreement with this plot plan.
Motion Carried.
c. Request by Francis D. Van Auken at 2804 - 30th Avenue N.E. for a garage
permit was delayed until the next meeting to allow Fred Katterheinrich to look
at the property and make recommendations as to the placement of said garage.
d. Upon motion by Katterheinrich, seconded by Mesenbring to recommend to
the Council to grant permission to Ledwein Carpet Co. to move sign at 2550
Kenzie Terrace to his new locations at 2503 Kenzie Terrace. The sign is
34'X2 ' or 85 sq. ft.
Motion Carried.
e. Bill Chapman of Naso,i, Wehrman, Knight and Chapman presented preliminary
plans of the shopping center area and some recommendations for the control of
traffic in and out of the center. Also discussed was the continuation of Lowry
Avenue to Highway 8 and its effect on the traffic on Kenzie Terrace. Other
traffic changes were discussed pertaining to the intersection of Kenzie Terrace
and St. Anthony Boulevard. Mr. Chapman will attend the next Planning Board
meeting and bring in more information on the study.
4. Moved by Howitz seconded by Englund to adjourn.
Motion Carried.
