Tuesday August 8, 1967. The following were present at roll call : O'Connor, Dougherty, Springer, Bailey Absent: Sorenson It was noted that on page 2, last paragraph that the word "plan" should read "plat", minutes of July 25, 1967. Upon motion by Councilman Dougherty and seconded by Councilman Springer that the minutes of July 25, 1967 be approved as amended. Motion Carried. After discussion, motion by Councilman Dougherty and seconded by Mayor O'Connor that a variance of 7' be granted over lot 4, block 4, Harstad's 2nd • addition. Motion Carried. Park Board Chairman Everett Hamilton, reviewed the Board's minutes of their August 3, 1967 meeting. Councilman Dougherty moved and seconded by Councilman Bailey that the bid of Crowley Fence Company be accepted for the construction of back stop hoods at Ramsey Park and Central Park in the amount of $890.00. Voting on the motion: Aye: O'Connor, Dougherty, Springer, Bailey Nay: None Absent not voting: 'Sorenson Motion Carried. Mayor O'Connor moved and seconded by Councilman Springer that the bid of Miracle Equipment Company be-accepted for the supplying of playground equip- ment in the amount of $2,026.00 Voting on the motion: Ayes O'Connor, Dougherty, Springer, Bailey Nay: None Absent not voting: Sorenson Motion Carried. • -2- Upon motion by Councilman Bailey and seconded by Councilman Dougherty it was moved that the bid of Gurtek and Ramberg for the furnishing and planting of trees and shrubs in Ramsey Park be accepted in the amount of $1658.00. Voting on the motion: Ayes O'Connor, Dougherty, Springer, Bailey Nay: None Absent not voting: Sorenson Motion Carried. Mayor O'Connor introduced Resolution No. 67-037 and moved that it be adopted. RESOLUTION NO. 67-037 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE TRANSFER OF CERTAIN PARK FUNDS. The resolution was duly seconded by Councilman Bailey. Voting on the resolution: • Aye: O'Connor, Dougherty, Springer, Bailey Nay: None Absent not voting: Sorenson Resolution declardd adopted. Upon motion by Councilman Dougherty seconded by Mayor O'Connor it was moved that the request of Elmwood Lutheran Church to erect a 35' cross approximately 69 feet from the East line of Chelmsford Avenue be approved. Voting on the motion: Aye: O'Connor, Dougherty, Bailey Nay:-F Springer Absent not voting: Sorenson Motion Carried. Various letters and reports were received and ordered filed. A meeting with residents of Silver Lake was set for 7:00 P.M. September 12, 1967 and the Village Manager was directed to notify all residents living on Silver Lane, Silver Lake Court, and Silver Lake Terrace. The Village Manager was directed toteview by letter with Mr. Dumphy, the odor • control requirements conditioning the approval of the Happy's Potato Chip Plant and also to contact references supplied by Crest Aire Inc. Y -3- The 3-The Village Manager was directed to inform Mr. John Commers, 3112 - 36th Avenue N.E. that the installation of a curbing in front of his property would be done either as an improvement for 1968 and assessed or as a cash payment with the construction to be done as soon as is feasible. Mr. Horton Connet's request for the rezoning of property on Stinson Boulevard between 33rd and 34th Avenue N.E. was denied. Mr. A. J. Ludwig appeared and complained of water quality and also of the amount of his second quarter water bill. He was informed that treatment underway in the water plant should alleviate his problem. The request for adjustment of his water bill was denied. Upon motion by Councilman Dougherty and seconded by Councilman Fpringer it was moved that the engineers certificate in the amount of $62.21 be approved. Voting on the motion: Aye: O'Connor, Dougherty, Springer, Bailey Nay: None Absent not voting : Sorenson Motion Carried. Upon motion by Mayor O'Connor and seconded by Councilman Bailey it was moved that the engineers certificate in the amount of $64.80 be approved. • Voting on the motion: Aye: O'Connor, Dougherty, Springer, Bailey Nay: None Absent not voting: Sorenson Motion Carried. Upon motion by Councilman Dougherty and seconded by Councilman Springer that the properly verified claims be approved. Motion Carried. Upon motion by Councilman Dougherty and seconded by Councilman Springer it was moved that the resignation of Councilman Richard K. Sorenson be accepted effective July 1 , 1967. Motion Carried.
