' RESOLUTION SIGNIFYING THE WILLINGNESS OF THE VILLAGE OF ST. ANTFJNY TO
ASSUMC RESPONSIBILITY FOR ST. ANTHONY BOULEVARD FROM STINSON BOULEVARD
TO PROPOSED HIGHWAY 35W PROVICED A CONNECTION TO AND UNDER T. H. 35W
IS PROVIDED
WHEREAS the Village of St. Anthony believes that the construction of
T. H. 35W necessitates access to the area bounded on the East by T. H. 280
and on the South by T. H. 36 via St. Anthony Boulevard; and
WHEREAS St. Anthony Boulevard serves an arterial as well as a parkAay
function as demonstrated by the present traffic volumes recorded fron,
T. H. 36 t� T. H. 8, and
WHEREAS it is undesirable that the Minneapolis Park Board maintain
roadways serving arterial functions; and
WHEREAS the Minneapolis Park Board has indicated that a formal
expression of intent with regard to the Village's position be mad-- regarding
maintaining St. Anthony Boulevard within the Village limits in the event
access to and under T. H. 35W is provided:
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Village Council of the Village
of St. Anthony calls upon the Minneapolis Park Board to abandon St. Anthony
Boulevard from Stinson Boulevard to the proposed T. H. 35W; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Village hereby signifies its intent
and willingness to assume maintenance of St. Anthony Boulevard within the
limits of the Village of St. Anthony on the same basis that improvements,
repairs, snow removal and other maintenance incidental to the upkeep c_`
other roadways ander the jurisdiction of the Village is provided: and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Village of St. Anthony indicates its
willingness and intent to prohibit ,truck and other industrial traffic from
St. Anthony Boulevard if it were to assume responsibility for and main-
tenance of the roadway to retain the aesthetic and rzcr:ctional qualities
consistent with its present arterial functions; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Minneapolis Park Bo-ird and the Citv rf
Minneapolis be and is hereby called upon to withdraw any objections and tc
consent to the connection to and under T. H. 35W and to so advise the
Mstropol i tan Planning Commission and the Minnesota State Highway Deps.-tment.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Village Clerk be enc 's :iereby 'nst-uc`ed
to provide copies of this resolution to the Minneapolis Park Board, tie
