RESOLUTION NO. 68-003
RESOLUTION COMMENDING MR, NORBERT F. MAHER
FOR HIS LONG AND DISTINGUISHED SERVICE TO
THE RESIDENTS OF THE VILLAGE OF ST. ANTHONY
AND EXPRESSING THE APPRECIATION OF THE VILLAGE
COUMCIL AND CITIZENS .
WHEREAS, Norbert F. Maher's service as the Superintendent of Public
Works for the Village of St. Anthony covered the difficult and formative years
of the Village; and,
WHEREAS, during his tenure as Public Works Superintendent, the
Village grew from a small community with few municipal improvements to a
community supplying all the municipal services required in an urban area; and,
WHEREAS, this growth in number of residents and in the extension of
municipal services occurred during the time of Mr. Maher's service, which was
exemplified by a personal attention to his duties in a manner above and beyond
that which was required of him; and,
t4HEREAS, by his service he has earned the respect and the resulting
appreciation and affection of the present and past public officials and of the
residents of the Village of St. Anthony; and,
k*IEREAS, due to his untimely death in the prime of his life, there
will be a loss to the entire community and particularly the children who recall
his many kindnesses, especially during the Christmas season; and,
WHEREAS, his service represented the highest example of the work of
a true public servant;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Village Council of
St. Anthony Village by this resolution extends to the wife and family of
Norbert F. Maher, condolences in their loss of a husband and father, and
express the appreciation of the Council on behalf of the citizens of the
Village of St. Anthony for the many years of service which he gave to his
community, which service has contributed to making the Village of St. Anthony
a more wholesome and desirable community in which to live.
