RESOLUTION RECEIVING ENGINEER'S PRELIMINARY
REPORTS ON IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE YEAR 1968
AND CALLING FOR HEARING ON THE IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, pursuant to resolutions of the Village Council adopted
February 13, 1968, and March 26, 1968, reports have been prepared by the
Village Engineer, Comstock and Davis, advising the Council in a preliminary
way as to whether the improvements proposed for the year 1968 are feasible,
and how they are best accomplished, together with the estimated cost of each
improvement. The reports cover the following improvements :
Item L. Kenzie Terrace. This improvement involves the installation
of curbing and sidewalk and the extension of a water main to serve the Lowry
Grove Trailer Court area. The work will be done by Hennepin County as part of
the county highway construction work on Kenzie Terrace. The estimated cost
of the improvement is $28,000.00.
Item 2, Street Improvements for the Area Lying North of 37th Avenue
and East of Silver Lake Road. This project involves the permanent surfacing
of 39th Avenue, Penrod Lane, M acalaster Drive, Shamrock Drive, Fordham Drive,
Foss Road, Chandler Drive, and Highcrest Road, together with concrete curb
and gutter. The total estimated cost of concrete surfacing is $381,910 and
• of bituminous surfacing is $312.980. The Council will attempt to coordinate
the work on these improvements with the improvement of Silver Lane which
was ordered in 1967.
Item 3. Storm Sewer Improvement for the Entire Area Designated as
Drainage District No. IT on the Storm Sewer System and Drainage Area Map
Attached to the Engineer's Report. This includes land furnished an outlet by
Ramsey County Ditch No. 3. The total estimated cost of the improvement is
$178,503.
The above improvement reports were received by the Council on April
9, 1968.
NIW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council consider said improve-
ments in accordance with the engineer's reports, that the cost of the improve-
ments be assessed against lands benefited in the manner provided by Minnesota
Statutes 429.051 to 429.081 and that said Council hold a public hearing on
the proposed improvement at 8:00 P.M. on May 2, 1968, in the Council Chambers
of the Village Hall.
The clerk shall give published and mailed notice of the hearing on
the improvements to the landowners liable to be assessed for the costs.
