A RESOLUTION DECLARING APRIL 9-15 AS HUNGER WEEK
dHsP,E,kS, the increased cost of living through inflation has made seemingly
everyday -purchases of essentials difficult for many people; and,
WHEREAS, there are many individuals in Hennepin County who are _n immed=ate
need of emergency food services; and
WHE ,EAS, an organization of 17 Hennepin County food shelves has been
established to distribute food for those of greatest need, and,
WHEREAS, these food shelves dependent upon public and private contributions,
are in desperate need of replenishment:
NOW, ZHFREFOEE, BE IT =OLVED by the City Council of St. Anthony that :t
declare April 9-15, 1979 as Hunger Week in the City of St. Anthony, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of St. Anthony strongly
encourage all its citizens to assist in the collection of food and financial
commitments to replenish this vitally important resource upon which a great
many people depend.
