ANTHONY'S COMPLIANCE WITH THE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA) • CITY OF ST. ANTHONY RESOLUTION 93-027 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CITY OF ST. ANTHONY'S COMPLIANCE WITH THE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA) WHEREAS, the City of St. Anthony, contracted with Julee Quarve-Peterson, Inc. (JQP) to conduct an ADA accessibility audit; and WHEREAS, JQP has recommended a priority ranking system based from the result of the ADA accessibility audit for the City of St. Anthony to utilize in its efforts towards compliance of ADA; and WHEREAS, JQP has recommended a grievance procedure, as required by ADA; and WHEREAS, City staff has recommended a transition plan based upon the accessiblity audit and • priority rankings to ensure compliance with ADA. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of St. Anthony approves the accessibility audit; the priority ranking system; the grievance procedure; and accept public input to utilize in the transition plan. O Mayor ATTEST: City Clerk Reviewed for administration: CityManager • • CITY OF SAINT ANTHONY NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: Notice is hereby given that there will be a public hearing by the City Council of the City of Saint Anthony at 7:05 P.M., or as soon thereafter as possible, on Tuesday, April 27, 1993, in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 3301 Silver Lake Road (enter northeast corner) for the following purpose: St. Anthony, Minnesota is presently conducting an ADA/"504" Accessibility Study for its buildings, programs, and services. To make the findings of this study as meaningful and pertinent as possible, the City requests the participation of anyone who would wish to contribute to the study in any way. Participation may take the form of advice, suggestions, questions, or an interest in involvement, and would be all the more relevant if contributed to by persons with disabilities. For the purposes of this study, "disability" is defined as any physical or mental impairment which substantially limits one or more major life activities, i.e., seeing,walking, speaking, hearing,breathing, self care, learning, and performing manual tasks. The term includes people who have a past record of impairments such as recovered heart attack victims, recovered cancer patients, former patients of mental hospitals, etc. • If you have any further questions or concerns or wish to contribute to this study, please contact: 1. Public Works Director, who is St. Anthony's Accessibility Coordinator at 612/789-8881. 2.
