A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONTRACT RELATING
TO THE FIRE STATION CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
WHEREAS, bids were called for construction of a Fire Station facility; and
WHEREAS, bids were received and reviewed for said project on August 12, 2003; and
WHEREAS, Kraus-Anderson Construction, Inc. recommended the bids be awarded to the
lowest responsible Contractor for each Bid Division.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of St. Anthony
hereby awards the bids for construction of the Fire Station facility, as recommended by Kraus-
Anderson, as follows:
Bid Division 1 Belair Excavating $143,645
Bid Division 2 Nova-Frost, Inc. $29,700
• Bid Division 3 Bituminous Roadways, Inc. $25,900
Bid Division 4 Gresser Companies, Inc. $68,700
Bid Division 5 Thurnbeck Steel Fabrication, Inc. $52,662
Total bid amount for Bid Divisions 1 through 5 $320,607

This letter is concerning the contract awards for the above referenced project that was bid on
Tuesday, August 12,2003.
Listed below are the lowest responsible Contractor and the proposal amount for Bid Division
Nos. 1 through 5:
• BID DIVISION 1 —Demolition, Site Clearing,Earthwork,Retaining Wall—Belair
Excavating—base bid-$143,645.00—total contract amount-$143,645.00.
BID DIVISION 2—Water Systems and Sewage Systems—Nova-Frost,Inc.—base bid-
$29,700.00—total contract amount-$29,700.00.
BID DIVISION 3—Asphalt Concrete Paving—Bituminous Roadways,Inc.—base bid-
$25,900.00—total contract amount-$25,900.00.
BID DIVISION 4—Concrete/Masonry/Site Concrete—Gresser Companies,Inc. —base
bid-$68,700.00—total contract amount-$68,700.00.
BID DIVISION 5—Structural Steel,Steel Joists, Steel Decking(Material Only)—
Thurnbeck Steel Fabrication,Inc. —base bid-$52,662.00—total contract amount-
$52,662.00.
Based on the current information we have, it is our recommendation to award Bid Division 1
contract to Belair Excavating, Bid Division 2 contract to Nova-Frost, Inc., Bid Division 3 to
Bituminous Roadways, Inc., Bid Division 4 to Gresser Companies, Inc. and Bid Division 5 to
Thumbeck Steel Fabrication,Inc.
The total bid amount for Bid Division Nos. 1 through 5 is$320,607.00, and the budget amount is
$322,000.00 for a difference of$1,393.00.
