A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PROPOSAL SUBMITTED BY
COLUMBIA TELECOMMUNICATIONS CORPORATION TO
CONDUCT A WIRELESS INTERNET CONNECTIVITY FEASIBILITY STUDY
FOR THE CITY OF ST. ANTHONY
WHEREAS, at a worksession on June 2, 2005 City Staff presented information to the
City Council on wireless Internet (Wi Fi) system; and
WHEREAS, as a result of the information presented at the June worksession and based
on Staff information that there are areas in the industrial and commercial
areas of the City that remain underserved by the Internet, the City Council
asked that Cheryl Johnson and Tom Asp, representatives from Columbia
Telecommunications Corporation (formerly of Vichow/Krause) be invited
to do a presentation before the City Council; and
WHEREAS, at the August worksession, Ms.Johnson and Mr. Asp provided information
about wireless systems and discussed specific connectivity issues that the
® City would need to consider before installing a Wi Fi system; and
WHEREAS, Staff was directed by the City Council to request a Request for Proposal and
received a proposal from Columbia Telecommunications Corporation on
November 16, 2005 to conduct a feasibility study in the amount of$14,500.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the City Council of the City of St. Anthony
hereby approves the proposal submitted by Columbia Telecommunications Corp. to conduct a
wireless Internet connectivity feasibility study for the City in the amount of$14,500.
