A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE LEASE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY
OF ST. ANTHONY AND HENNEPIN COUNTY FOR ADDITIONAL ELECTION
EQUIPMENT TO MEET HELP AMERICA VOTE ACT (NAVA) REQUIREMENTS
WHEREAS, the federal Help America Vote Act (HAVA) legislation requires the State
of Minnesota to implement Assisted Voting Technology (AVT) in 2006 to
be in compliance with HAVA; and
WHEREAS, the Hennepin County Task Force drafted the County HAVA plan. This
plan was approved by Hennepin County Board on November 15, 2005;
and
WHEREAS, Hennepin County will purchase the AVT equipment with the allocation of
federal funds and the City of St. Anthony will lease the equipment for the
cost of the annual maintenance contract for each piece of equipment; and
O WHEREAS, Hennepin County will provide the AVT equipment to cities for each

precinct and one for city hall absentee voting; and
WHEREAS, the City of St. Anthony would be responsible for the annual maintenance
costs and programming costs for these voting machines.
BE IT RESOLVED that the City of St. Anthony hereby approves the lease agreement
between the City of St. Anthony and Hennepin County for additional election
equipment to meet Help America Vote Act (HAVA) requirements.
