A RESOLUTION TO RECOGNIZE THE DEDICATION OF SALO PARK IN
RECOGNITION OF THE SISTER CITY RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN
SALO,FINLAND AND ST. ANTHONY, MINNESOTA
WHEREAS, in November of 1985, the Cities of Salo, Finland and St. Anthony,
Minnesota recognized each other as sister cities; and
WHEREAS, after twenty one years, this relationship has produced many opportunities
for cultural, educational, governmental and social understanding for all
citizens; and
WHEREAS, the City of Salo, Finland has dedicated a park named "St. Anthony Park"
honoring that relationship in Salo, Finland; and
WHEREAS, through the re-development efforts in St. Anthony and the support of
business and community leaders we were able to reciprocate in kind by
• memorializing in law and deed -Salo Park; and
WHEREAS, in that these two communities universally embrace this acknowledgement
of benevolence, on this day,June 8th, 2006 we dedicate, with our fellow
Council members from the City of Salo, and the City of St. Anthony, SALO
PARK.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of St. Anthony
that we recognize the dedication and memorialization of Salo Park in Silver Lake
Village of St Anthony, Minnesota
Adopted this 9th day of May, 2006.
