A RESOLUTION APPROVING ENTERING INTO A
UTILITY CONTRACT WITH XCEL ENERGY TO PERFORM
UTILITY RELOCATION AND UNDERGROUND UTILITY INSTALLATION
ALONG SILVER LAKE ROAD
WHEREAS, Hennepin County has proposed to improve Silver Lake Road from St. Anthony
Boulevard N.E. to 37`h Avenue N.E. within the City of St. Anthony.
WHEREAS, for roadway and public utility improvements to occur in 2008, it is desirable to
relocate private utilities in 2007 to reduce potential for private utility conflicts during
the proposed construction work.
WHEREAS, all private utility relocation shall include moving existing overhead utilities
underground within the Silver Lake Road right of way and connecting to individual
residences.
WHEREAS, funding for the Silver Lake Road Project has been identified in the Key Financial
Management Plan for Capital projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Anthony that:
I) The City will enter into a contractual agreement with Xcel Energy to fund the costs of
relocating overhead power lines and service lines underground, including all lines
connecting to existing residences, not to include the meter box installation and internal
wiring, along Silver Lake Road.
2) Xcel Energy will provide detailed final costs for relocating all facilities along Silver
Lake Road in the estimated amount of$900,000 to $920,000.
3) $1,200,000.00 be transferred to the Silver Lake Road Project from the following funds:
i. $798,585.00 from Fund#321 Chandler TIF.
ii. $ 50,603.00 from Fund #701 ,tility Fund(Water/Sewer Connection Fees).
iii. $350,812.00 from F d-#702-' Water Fund.
