RESOLUTION 07-056
APPROVING FUNDING OF$35,000 FOR ESTABLISHING A CONNECTION
FROM THE OVERPASS ON ST. ANTHONY BOULEVARD AND FRANCIS GROSS
GOLF COURSE TO THE NORTHEAST DIAGONAL TRAIL
AND THE GRAND ROUND
WHEREAS, the City of Minneapolis approached the St. Anthony City Council on April
25, 2006 requesting funding for the Northeast Diagonal Trail plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council denied this resolution requesting funding of$50,000; and
WHEREAS, the City of Minneapolis returned with a request of the St. Anthony City
Council authorize support of the Northeast Diagonal Trail plan with no
financial responsibility to the City of St. Anthony; and
WHEREAS, the City of St. Anthony approved resolution 06-049, supporting the
Northeast Diagonal Trail plan with no financial responsibility to the City
of St. Anthony; and
• WHEREAS; May 2007, unannounced to the City of St. Anthony the overpass on St.
Anthony Boulevard and Francis Gross Golf Course to the Northeast
Diagonal Trail and the Grand Rounds were eliminated from the final plan;
and
WHEREAS, St. Anthony Staff as well as elected officials have been in contact with
officials from the City of Minneapolis, Minneapolis Park Board and Three
River Park District; and
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the City of St. Anthony approves funding
$35,000 for Establishing a Connection from the Overpass on St. Anthony Boulevard and
Francis Gross Golf Course to the Northeast Diagonal Trail and the Grand Round. The
$35,000 to be paid for from the City's H.R.A. Project Fund.
