A RESOLUTION REQUESTING A VARIANCE TO HORIZONTAL ALIGNMENT
REQUIREMENT SET FORTH BY STATE AID OPERATIONS FOR THE
2009 STREET AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
S.A.P. No. 161-107-002 from station 10+57.1 (37`x'Avenue NE)to station 42+43.2 (City Limits)in
the City of St. Anthony in the Counties of Hennepin and Ramsey,Minnesota.
WHEREAS, this resolution was passed this eight day of December, 2008,by the City of
St. Anthony in the Counties of Hennepin and Ramsey,Minnesota. The Municipal Corporation shall
hereinafter be the "City",
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, the "City", has planned the improvement of Chandler Drive and Foss Road,
State Aid Route No. 161-107-002 from station 10+57.1 (37th Avenue NE)to station 42+43.2 (City
Limits in the City of St. Anthony in the Counties of Hennepin and Ramsey,Minnesota; and
WHEREAS, the "City" will be expending Municipal State Aid Funds on the improvements
of this Street; and
• WHEREAS, this improvement does not provide adequate road right-of-way to provide for
the horizontal alignment requirement as outlined on Fig. A(3) 5-892.211 of the State Aid Manual;
and approval of the proposed construction as a Municipal State Aid Street project must therefore
receive a variance from the Minnesota Rules for State Aid Operations Chapter 8820.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of St. Anthony that:
1) The request for a variance to Minnesota Rule 8820.9936 is authorized, to allow a 20 mph
horizontal curve in lieu of the required minimum 30 mph between station 27+76.17 and
station 28+42.37, and a 25 mph horizontal curve in lieu of the required minimum 30 mph
between station 39+68.39 and station 41+41.40.
