RESOLUTION TO APPROVE A REQUEST TO KEEP
THREE HEN CHICKENS AS PETS IN AN R-3 ZONING DISTRICT
WHEREAS, Mr. Todd Roepke, 3901 Foss Road,has submitted a written request for
approval from the City Council, as outlined in Subsection 1210.02, to
approve his request to keep three hen chickens as pets; and
WHEREAS, The City of St. Anthony Code of Ordinances, Section 1210.02 specifies that
livestock, including chickens, require approval from the City Council; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Roepke has provided additional information about the keeping of
chickens as pets; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Roepke also stated that she has spoken with his neighbors and advised
Staff that they are not opposed to him keeping these chickens as pets; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Roepke described the enclosures that will house the three hen chickens
and that it will be kept mostly inside; and
• WHEREAS, Staff contacted Ramsey County Environmental Health Division regarding
any concerns that they have with this request and they had none, that this
matter was within the City's jurisdiction; and
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of St. Anthony has completed its
consideration of the request for approval to keep as pets, no more than three
(3) hen chickens in an R-3 Zoning District and do hereby approve this
request from Mr. Todd Roepke, dated February 6, 2009.
