A. Resolution 79-057 . A Resolution Modifying the 1979 Budget .
ACTION: Recommend Approval
OB. Resolution 79-060 . A Resolution Authorizing the Mayor and
Manager to Sign First Amendment to Agreement No. 80228 .
ACTION: Recommend Approval
8 . Old Business
A. Apache Liquor Remodeling. We will receive bids on
September 5 and should have a total cost estimate by
then. We anticipate it will not exceed $75 ,000 . I
would like to schedule a special meeting in the late
afternoon of September 5 to award the contract.
ACTION: Schedule special meeting if we can get a quorum.
9 . New Business
A. Schedule budget meetings . I expect to distribute the
proposed bucget by September 7 at the latest. I sug-
gest scheduling about two budget meetings before October
9 , when the budget must be approved and the tax levy
certified.

10 . Communications/Petitions
A. Chuck Kerl , I .S.D. 282 , Re : Solicitation Project.
Ordinance 955 :00 does not appear to permit this , but
perhaps the Council could suspend it. I feel the
ordinance should be modified to permit solicitation
by bonafide . non-profit groups , with some limitations.
ACTION: Council
B. -" I .S:D. 282 request for a parking ban on Skycroft Drive
immediately north of 33rd Avenue N.E. and Rankin Road,
immediately south of 33rd Avenue N.E . The district
desires the ban for their new student parking policy.
ACTION: Recommend approval of a daytime, weekday ban --
either no parking or one-hour parking.
C. Street Light Petition Request. The City is currently
studying all street lighting with Northern States Power
and will propose a comprehensive plan in September.
ACTION: Recommend tabling the request until the study
is completed.
D. Kiwanis Peanut Sale. This year' s chairman is requesting
• Council permission to solicit.
ACTION: Recommend Approval
11 . Reports - None
12. Licenses
A. Amusement Center: Treasure Island Amusement Company (see
letter dated August 13, 1979) .
B. Service Stations : Sroga' s Standard; St. Anthony 176
C. Restaurants : Mei Wah (2524 Harding Street N.E. -- formerly
House of Wong) .
