ANTHONY COUNCIL MINUTES March 31, 1970 The special meeting was called to order by the Mayor at 9:30 P.M. The following were present at roll call : Miedtke, Crouse, Emond, Levandowski, Kukielka. Also present: Village Attorney, Larry Vickrey Village Manager, John R. Printon Motion by Councilman Crouse and seconded by Councilman Levandowski that a public hearing be held at 8:00 o'clock P.M., April 28, 1970, to consider tectual changes in the Ordinances dealing with the Apache Plaza property adjacent to Silver Lane and also the Hedlund Nursing Home property. Voting on the motion: Aye: Miedtke, Crouse, Emond, Levandowski, Kukielka Nay: None Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Crouse and seconded by Councilman Levandowski the meeting • be adjourned. Motion carried. ANTHONY COUNCIL MINUTES SEPTEMBER 29, 1970 The special meeting was called to order by Mayor Miedtke at 8:00 o'clock P.M. The following were present at roll call : Crouse, Levandowski, Miedtke, Englund Absent : Emond A public hearing was declared open for consideration of a zoning change from Commercial to Light Industrial on the property at 37th Avenue N.E. and Silver Lake Road. Mr. W.G. Housenga representing Standard Oil Company appeared stating that he felt that when he informed Standard Oil Company of this zoning change that they would get going with the remodeling at this location. Motion by Councilman Crouse and seconded by Councilman Levandowski to extend the public hearing on the consideration of this zoning change at 37th Avenue N.E. and Silver Lake Road to the Council Meeting of October 27, 1970. Motion carried. The public hearing for Storm Sewer Improvement 1970-1 Equinox Apartments was de- clared open. . Motion by Councilman Crouse and seconded by Councilman Englund that the public hearing on Storm Sewer Improvement 1970-1 Equinox Apartments be closed. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Crouse and seconded by Councilman Englund to authorize the Village Manager to proceed with the construction and solicitation of bids for Storm Sewer Improvement 1970-1 Equinox Apartments. Motion carried. Bids for Storm Sewer Improvement 1970-1 Equinox Apartments was opened at 12 :00 o'clock noon, September 29, 1970. The following bids were received: Bianconi Construction Company $14,908.00 R.W. Moore Company 13,000.00 0 & H Excavaction, Inc. 9,882.00 Allied Underground, Inc. 11,750.00 Associated Contracting Company No Bid Dunkley Surfacing Company, Inc. 11,500.00 Moretinni Construction Company 15,938.00 Park Construction Company 11,400.00 Erwin Montgomery Construction Company 18,002.00 White Construction Company 11,304.80 -2- Motion by Councilman Crouse and seconded by Councilman Englund to accept the bid from 0 & H Excavation, Inc. in the amount of $9,882.00 for Storm Sewer Improvement 1970-1. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Englund and seconded by Councilman Crouse to direct the Village Manager to authorize bids for a two way plow. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Crouse and seconded by Mayor Miedtke that we officially work with the School Board in the planning and installation of walkways in the park and school recreation area: One, the park area from the north off of Skycroft Drive proceeding through the park area toward the schools to the north of the water treatment plant, Two-one coming in from the east off of Skycroft Drive and pro- ceeding toward the schools on the easterly side of the school playground area and Three-entering the park area at 34th Avenue N.E. and tying to the other two walkways also to the north of the water treatment plant; for the purpose of pro- viding walking area for the students in the schools sway from the busy streets. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Englund and seconded by Councilman Crouse that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried. Printon Village Manager - St. Anthony 2900 Kenzie Terrace Minneapolis, Minnesota 55418 Dear Mr. Printon: The County Board of Commissioners through budget action recently authorized the Hennepin County Library to assume the rental and maintenance expenses of all facilities used for libraries throughout the county, to be effective January 1, 1971. It is our intention to enter into suitable contractual arrangements with cleaning and heating contractors to satisfy this requirement on the earliest possible date. *owever, it will require a period of time to draw up the proper specifications and x receive bids for these services which makes it very unlikely that we will be in a position to assume these responsibilities immediately on January 1. In view of this, the following information is pertinent: 1) Do you wish the Hennepin County Library to assume these responsibilities as early as possible? Z) If so, would you please continue to rent and maintain your library facility as in the past from January 1 until we have concluded,the necessary con- ` tractual arrangements and have assumed these responsibilities, and then bill us for your actual expenses for the period? � I would appreciate a prompt reply to facilitate our planning. .� Sincerely yours, Robert H. You will redall that the Minneapolis Fire Department furnished your protection during the first six weeks of that year. Printon, of St. Anthony, Minnesota (hereinafter referred to as "Printon") , and the Village of St. Anthony , Minnesota, a municipal corporation organized under the laws of the State of Minnesota { r (hereinafter referred to as the "Village") , WITNESSETH: f WHEREAS, Printon has tendered his resignation as the Village [ Manager of St. Anthony, effective as of December 31 , 1970; and WHEREAS, the Village Council of St . Anthuny , by Resolution f- No. 70-032 , adopted November 24, 1970, has accepted Printon's resignation • effective as of December 31 , 1970; and ! WHERI.AS , Printon has offered to act i ! lage Manager until a new Manager has been selected and on a consulting basis Lhercirter during the months of January and February 1971; and t, WHEREAS, the Village Council desires to for an orderly transition and continuation of Village affairs during the managerial change-over period, and, by Resolution No. 70-03" adopted November 24, 1970, t authorized an agreement with Printon for this purpose; NOW THEREFORE, the parties hereto agree as follows : , 1 . During all or part of the months of January and February 1971 , f Printon shall act as Village Manager pending the hiring of a new Manager, and thereafter for the remainder of such two-month period shall make such II ' I r time available for consulting services as the Village Council and the new r � i .Village Manager deem necessary for an orderly transition in the change of Village Managers and for the continuation of Village affairs during such transition. 2. Printon shall be compensated in the amountaf $1,437.50 per month for January and February of 1971, provided, that Printon shall not be entitled to any accrued vacation time or other benefits for such period of time. 3. By mutual agreement of the parties, this Agreement may be terminated prior to February 289 1971, upon such terms and conditions as the parties may agree. 4. By mutual agreement of the parties, this Agreement may be extended on such terms and conditions as the parties may agree.
