Re: City of St. Anthony/Flood Hazard Mitigation Request for Additional Funds
Dear Mr. Johnson:
• As a follow-up to our phone conversations, and meetings, the City of St. Anthony requests that
the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources issue $900,000 of the remaining Minnesota
Department of Natural Resources Flood Hazard Mitigation Grant.
The purpose for this request is to assist the City of St. Anthony in cash flowing flood mitigation
improvements currently being constructed through the early part of 1999. The City anticipates
issuing additional bonds for flood mitigation improvements in early 2000. Upon issuance of
these bonds, the City will expend over$3 Million toward flood mitigation improvements, which
exceeds the $2 Million in local matching funds required by the grant. Attached please find a
breakdown of the City's expenditures and funding sources though the year 2000. We thank you
for your cooperation in this matter.
If you have any questions please call me at(612) 789-8881.
Sincerely,
Ayllk, lwasl
