ANTHONY RESOLUTION 99-067 A RESOLUTION APPROVING A CLEANING SERVICE CONTRACT AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE SAID CONTRACT BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of St. Anthony hereby approves the Contract for cleaning services for the City Hall/Community Center with Compton's Commercial Cleaning, Inc. and authorizes the Mayor and City Manager to execute said Contract on behalf of the City. We had a meeting with Jay Hartman on October 14, 1999 which we discussed extending our contract for two years. There will be no increase in prices for 2000 and 2001. The daily cleaning price will remain at$144.00 plus tax per day for six days a week and include carpet cleaning and floor service at no extra charge. ANTHONY, a municipal corporation under the laws of the State of Minnesota (the "City"), and COMPTON'S COMMERCIAL CLEANING, INC., a Minnesota corporation ("Contractor"). A. The City has advertised for proposals for the work identified in the attached Exhibit A ("Specifications"). B. Contractor has agreed to furnish all necessary cleaning supplies and materials, labor, tools, equipment and other items necessary to perform the work designated in the Specifications and other Contract documents referred to (the "Work"). In consideration of the mutual agreements herein contained, it is agreed by and between the City and Contractor as follows: 1. Contractor shall furnish all cleaning supplies and materials, labor, tools, equipment and other items necessary to complete the Work at the times specified, time being of the essence, in accordance with the Specifications and other Contract documents, for the cost • set forth in Section 4. 2. The Contract documents consist of this Contract and the attached General Conditions. 3. The Work shall commence January 1, 2000 and shall continue until December 31, 2001. Thereafter this Contract shall be deemed renewed for successive one periods unless terminated as herein provided. Either party may terminate this Contract, with or without cause, by 30 days prior written notice to the other. 4. The City agrees to pay the Contractor for the performance of this Contract, and the Contractor agrees to accept the following amounts: For the cleaning described on Exhibit A, Contractor will be paid $144.00 per day, plus state sales tax (if any). Payments shall be made once each month for work completed, according to the City's normal pay periods. 5. The City and Contractor shall agree that all of the terms of this Contract shall be binding upon the City and the Contractor and their respective successors and assigns. • 6. This Contract is entered into under the laws of the State of Minnesota and shall in all respects be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Minnesota IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this Contract as of the day • and year first above written. I By: r'?rm r) L.2 • Pamela Compton Its President • Exhibit A • Specifications for Cleaning SCHEDULE FOR CLEANING ALL FACILITIES A. Nightly Cleaning Schedule (Monday through Saturday) All carpeted areas will be vacuumed and spot cleaned, if needed All tile floor areas will be swept and wet mopped. All exposed aggregate floor areas will be swept and wet mopped. Dust ledges, desks, countertops, etc. All trash and recycling bins will be emptied. All bathrooms will be cleaned. B. Weekly Cleaning Schedule All tile floors will be spray buffed. All exposed aggregate floors cleaned according to manufacturer's specifications. Carpets will be spot cleaned. Both high and low dusting will be done. Bathrooms will be detailed. Carpet edges will be vacuumed. SPECIFICATIONS FOR CLEANING ALL FACILITIES • A. All Windows Will Be Cleaned Twice A Year (at no extra charge). B. Bathroom Cleaning (daily). 1. Toilets and urinals will be cleaned and disinfected. 2. All walls and dividers will be cleaned and disinfected. 3. Sinks and fixtures will be cleaned and disinfected. 4. Tile floors will be swept and wet mopped with disinfectant. 5. Mirrors will be cleaned. 6. All dispensers will be filled, as needed. 7. Paper towel and toilet paper dispensers will be filled, as needed. C. Scrub and Recoat of Vinyl Composition Tile (weekly). 1. All tile will be scrubbed and cleaned according to manufacturer's cleaning specifications to remove dirt, old wax, black scuff marks, gum, and other debris. Special attention will be given to edges and high traffic areas to assure that they are clean. 2. Tile will be wet mapped to remove film and puddles left by auto scrubber. 3. When the floor is dry, a finish coat as suggested by the manufacturer will be applied. Once dry, the floor is to be buffed, again according to the manufacturer's specifications. D. Exposed Aggregate Flooring and Burnished Block Walls (weekly).
