The regular meeting of the Planning Board was called to order by Chairman Hcwitz at 7:35 P.M. on Tuesday October 17s 1967. 2, The Following were present at roll call : Kronk, Miedtkep Englund, Howitz, Harty and Lyle Elam who was welcomed as the new member to the Planning Board. Absent: Mesenbring Also Present: Harry Lekson / The minutes of the meeting of September 190 1967 were approved as amended on Page 1, item 5a, second paragraph to read: After discussion with the neigh- bors it was disclosed that the Johnson Florist Co. was also in the Greenhouse Construction Business with a phone listed at the Florist business address. Upon motion by Miedtke, seconded by Mesenbring to table the request until the Board can get an opinion from the Village Attorney on the possibility of a violation by this listing. • Motion Carried. '/_4; Ordinance Variations Upon motion by Elam, seconded by Harty, to deny the request of Walter Powles at 2509 Silver Lane for a 2 ft. side yard variance to allow an 8 ft. addition to his present garage. tion Carried. 5. Public Hearings The tabling action of the September 19, 1967 Planning Board meeting concerning the Johnson Greenhouse property was considered and the opinion of the Village Attorney that the phone listing for a Greenhouse Construction Company would not constitute a violation at the Johnson Greenhouse location. Upon motion by Englund, seconded by Harty,to recommend to the Council that the plans for the Johnson Greenhouse be approved with the following conditions: 1. 15 ft. between buildings 10 2 and 3 and rear property line. 2. 23 ft& setback from front property line on buildings 2 and 3 to line up with present building. g. The west elevation on sheet #3 showing the new butler building facade to include present butler building being made to match the new construct- ion. 4. A cyclone fence 6 ft. high to be installed on Edwards St. starting at 33rd Avenue N.E. and extending north a distance of 75 ft. -2- 5. 2-5. One 16 ft. curb cut on 33rd Avenue as indicated on plan. Motion Carried. Upon motion by Miedtke, seconded by Kronk to recommend to the Council that they consider the limitation of heavy truck traffic on Village residential streets and review the action taken on May 89 1962, of upgrading weight restrictions on Edwards St. from 33rd Avenue to 34th. Motion Carried. 6. Zoning Variations - none 7. Old Business - none 8. Building Permits Upon motion by Miedtke, seconded by Kronk, to recommend Council approval for a 2 ft. variance in setback to allow remodeling of home and the addition of an attached garage at 2816 - 32nd Ave. N.E. All code requirements to be followed including new wiring, new furnace and duct work, sewer and water lines. Motion Carried. 9. Mi sce 1 lanou3 s a. Duane Mi4dtke was requested to contact the Park Board members for a meeting with them to consider acquisition of more park land. b. No'- action was taken on the Northern States Power Company land. c. The Planning Board reviewed the Lowell Heights Plat that was left at the Village Hall by Mr. McGrath the attorney for the Lowell family. The Board felt that no action was needed by them at this time. d. Upon motion by Kronk, seconded by M+ledtke, to resubmit the request of June 15, 1965 Planning Board meeting to chaW the multiple dwelling density requirements with alternate B as their choice. Motion Carried. e. Fence Ordinance to be discussed at next meeting. Upon motion by Kronk, seconded by Harty, it was moved to adjourn. Motion Carried. • Harry Lekson
