ADDENDUM TO PLANNING BOARD MINUTES MAY 21, 1968
Upon motion by Meidtke, seconded by Kronk, to recommend to the Council that
the preliminary plat of the proposed subdivision of Apache Plaza be approved
with the stipulation that the sewer easement located in the southwest corner
north of the tracks and east of Stinson Boulevard be definitely defined on
the final plat.

' PLANNING BOARD MEETING
May 21, 1968
1 . The regular meeting of the Planning Board was called to order by Chairman
Howitz at 7:30 P.M. on Tuesday, May 21 , 1968.
2. The Following were present at roll call :
Mesenbring, Kronk, Elam, Miedtke, Howitz, Englund
Absent: Harty
3. The minutes of the meeting of April 16, 1968, were approved as submitted.
4. /Ordinance Variations
/ a. Upon motion by Kronk, seconded by Mesenbring, to recommend to the
;Council that the request of Mr. Tonnel for a 10 ft. variance in width of a
corner lot plus an 8 ft. side yard variance be approved, at 3542 Coolidge
St. N.E.
Motion Carried.
b. Terry Norring did not appear.
c. Upon motion by Miedtke, seconded by Mesenbring, to recommend to the
Council that the bank request for signs next to the teller windows be denied.
Motion Carried.
d. The action taken by the Planning Board at the April 16, 1968, meeting
to table the request of the Sussel Company for a 7 ft. side yard variance
was discussed.
Upon motion by Englund, seconded by Kronk, to recommend to the Council that
the 7 ft. side yard variance be approved at 3100 Rankin Road.

Nay: Miedtke

• 8. Building Permits
a. Upon motion by Englund, seconded by Elam, to recommend to the Council
that the request by Standard Oil Company to add a 121x28' storage room to the
rear of the station at 27th Avenue and Kenzie Terrace N.E. be approved with the
south wall be faced with glazed material to conform with the front of the
building.

2-b. Upon motion by Kronk, seconded by Mesenbring, to recommend to the
Council that the preliminary plan as presented by Kenneth Benson for construct-
ion on the corner of Anthony Lane and 29th Avenue N.E. be approved.
Motion Carried.
9. Miscellaneous
a. Upon motion by Meidtke, seconded by Elam, to recommend Council approval
to the planting plan by Cedar Properties for a 33 unit apartment on Highcrest
Road.
Motion Carried.
b. Upon motion by Englund, seconded by Meidtke, to recommend to the
Council that the preliminary Walbon Plat be approved.
Motion Carried.
c. Upon motion by Miedtke, seconded by Elam, to recommend Council approval
of the proposed Lobo Addition in Mounds View Acres Second Addition, Lot 8
and part of Lot 7, Block 5.
Motion Carried.
• d. Upon motion by Kronk, seconded by Mesenbring, to recommend to the
Council that the request to change the Conoco sign at 37th and Silver Lake
Road to read Mileage be approved.
Motion Carried.
e. The Planning Board took no action on the screening of garbage cans
as they felt there was no need for this.
The Planning Board recommends that the Council 'reconsider the Fence Ordinance.
f. Upon motion by Englund, seconded by Kronk, to recommend Council approv-
al to divide the East 4 ft. of Lot 16 and add to Lot 15, Block 4, Wilshire Park
4th Addition. Lot 15 will be 91 ft. wide and Lot 16 will be 83 ft. wide.
Motion Carried.
g. Upon motion by Englund, seconded by Elam to recommend to the Council
that a 4x8 double face sign be approved for the Pop Shop at 2550 Kenzie
Terrace. The sign to be 4 ft. above grade and no more than 18 ft. from front
of building. The permit for sign to run for 6 months.
Motion Carried.
h. Upon motion by Miedtke, seconded by Kronk, to recommend Council
approval for LeRoy Signs, Inc. to place a 161x2 ' sign 'Union" replacing
• exisiting "Pure' letters on buiding at 2700 Kenzie Terrace.
Motion Carried.

• i. Upon motion by Meidtke, seconded by Elam, to recommend to the Council
that a public hearing be held on June 18, 1968, for rezoning of a portion
of Sunset Memorial Park South of 29th Avenue and West of Ramsey County line.
Legal description on attached page. The change in zoning is from R-1 to Light
Industrial .
Motion Carried.
10. Upon motion by Elam, seconded by Kronk, it was moved to adjourn.
