ANTHONY PLANNING BOARD MEETING January 21 , 1969 1. The regular meeting of the Planning Board was called to order by Chairman Howitz at 7:30 P. M. on Tuesday, January 21 , 1969• 2. The following were present at roll call : Mesenbring, Kronk, Miedtke, Howitz, Harty, Englund. 3. The minutes of the December 17, 1968 meeting were approved as submitted. The minutes of the special meeting were approved subject to- the correction sheet as attached. The Board members agreed to serve for the year 1969. 4. Public Hearings - None. 5. Ordinance Variations a. No one appeared regarding Sinclair sign. b. Upon motion by Englund, seconded by Mesenbring, to recommend the Council deny the request by Walter R. Hammod Company to relocate their sign to the new • location at 3601 - 29th Avenue N. E. Sign 80 sq. ft. over allowable size. Motion carried. i c. Upon motion by Miedtke, seconded by Mesenbring, to recommend the Council deny the request by Albert Villella to build a garage with a 5 ft. front yard variance at 3901 Fordham Drive N. E. Motion carried. \� d. No one appeared regarding Pharmacy sign. 6. a. Upon motion by Miedtke, seconded by Harty, to recommend to the Council that a public hearing be held to rezone from Light Industrial to Commercial the East 90 78/100 ft. of South 125 ft. of Lot 5, Block 8, Mounds View Acres Second Addition for an automotive diagnostic and repair center. (Lot East of Dairy store on 37th Avenue N. E. Motion carried. b. Upon motion by Mesenbring, seconded by Harty, to recommend to the Council that a public hearing be held to rezone Mr. Hasty's lot at 3404 - 37th Avenue N. E. from R-1 to 2-2. Voting on the motion. Aye: Mesenbring, Harty. May: Englund, Howitz, Miedtke, Kronk. Motion not carried. -2- 7. 2-7. Old Business - None. 8. Building Permits - None. 9. Miscellaneous a. Upon motion by Englund, seconded by Kronk, to recommend to the Council that the Planning Board hold an informal meeting with the owners of property in Block 4, Mounds View Acres Second Addition to discuss the proposed new street in this block. Motion carried. b. Upon motion by Miedtke, seconded by Englund, to recommend to the Council that they authorize the Village engineer to prepare plans for the blocking of the east end of 27th Avenue and the south end of Coolidge Street as recommended in the planning study of June, 1967. Motion carried. c. Upon motion by ((ronk, seconded by Mesenbring, to recommend to the Council that a temporary sign for a pancake breakfast requested by Scout Troop #107 be approved. The sign size is 4 ft. X 8 ft. to be located at Nativity Church and date is February 9, 1969. Motion carried. d. The Planning Board discussed a new proposal for a 51 unit apartment building on the Kenzie property which would eliminate the tavern and the 2 story house on the property. No action was taken because of insufficient information. 10. Motion by Miedtke, seconded by Kronk, that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried. Harry Lekson Secretary
