VILLAGE OF ST. ANTHONY
PLANNING BOARD SPECIAL MEETING
February 4, 1969
A special meeting of the Planning Board was called to order by Chairman Howitz
at 7:30 P. M. on Tuesday, February 4, 1969.
The Chairman announced that this was the time and place to hold a public hearing
requested by the Village Council to consider a change in zoning of the strip of
land lying south of Silver Lane between Stinson Blvd. and Silver Lake Road from
R-1 single family to Multiple Dwelling (outlot A Apache Plaza). Also rezone
Outlot B, except the N. 173.97 ft. of the East 200 ft. and Outlot D from Commer-
cial to Multiple Dwelling.
A petition was presented by L. F. Heuer, 4016 Silver Lake Terrace signed by 29
area residents objecting to the proposal as presented by Apache. The proposal
by the residents recommended that the Planning and Zoning Commission and Council
consider for approval a special use rezoning permit with appropriate restrictions
to allow the construction of attractive type townhouses provided the following
minimum conditions are met.
1. No access on Silver Lane
2. Density to be not more than 50 units
3. Landscaping on the order of neighboring Pem-Tom development
4. Clusters of not more than 6 units each.
5. That no change be made in the present commercial zoning except as to
permit town house development.
After considerable discussion Chairman Howitz declared the hearing closed at
• 9:30 P. M.
Upon motion by Englund, seconded by Miedtke, to recommend to the Council that
the proposal as presented by Apache be denied.
Motion carried.
Upon motion by Miedtke, seconded by Englund, that the discussion of this rezoning
be continued to a special meeting to be held on March 4, 1969 at 7:30 P. M.
Motion carried.
The board indicated to Apache that a lower density plan would receive favorable
consideration.
Lou Howitz will represent the Planning Board at the February 11, 1969 Council
meeting.
Upon motion by Miedtke, seconded by Harty, that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion carried.
