ANTHONY PLANNING BOARD MINUTES July 27, 1970 1. The meeting was called to order by acting chairman Don Kronk at 7:10 o'clock P.M. The meeting of July 21, 1970 was cancelled due to lack of a quorum. Thomas Ondrey was elected Chairman by the Board and took over the chair. Charles Herman was welcomed to the Planning Board by the members and was assured that they were glad to have him as a member. 2. The following were present at roll call : Mesenbring, Herman, Bratland, Kronk, Ondrey. Absent: Carlson, Parrill 3. The minutes of the June 16, 1970 meeting were approved as submitted. 4. Public Hearings-None 5. Ordinance Variations-None 6. Zoning Variations-None 7. Old Business-None 8. Building Permits-None 9. /Miscellaneous / a. Wyne Leonard appeared on request of the Planning Board to give an opinion on the replacement of the corner sign at the Conoco Station at 37th and Silver Lake Road. He stated that the sign requested would not interfere with the traffic signal at the intersection. Motion by Bratland, seconded by Mesenbring, to recommend to the Council that the request be approved with the following provisions : 1. All other signs be removed on sign structure. 2. Temporary signs not approved be removed. 3. That the oil company be advised that the sign ordinance is now being reviewed and that this approval is granted with no guarantee as to what the outcome of that review shall be. Voting on the motion: • Aye: Mesenbring, Bratland, Ondrey Nay: Kronk, Herman ,Motion carried. I i o r b. The letter from Richard Dobis regarding a retaining wall at 3217-32nd was discussed with the Public Safety Director. He stated $h* a wall 8 ft. high would create a hazard to the property on the east and require a guard rail of sufficient size to contain any cars on the drive. Motion by Mesenbring, seconded by Kronk to recommend to the Council that the proposed retaining wall not be allowed. Motion carried. c. Action on the property division at 3201 Silver Lake Road was tabled by a motion by Mesenbring, seconded by Kronk, to give the Board moe time to study the request. Motion carried. d. Motion by Bratland, seconded by Mesenbring, to recommend to the Council that the request to require the Skelly Oil Company to erect a privacy fence on the rear of their property by the owners of the new double bungalow to the east of the station be denied. The Board feels they have no jurisdiction in this case. Motion carried. e. The Board discussed the roadway onto Silver Lane and also the parking spaces on the 150 ft. strip. No action was taken on this item. 10. Motion by Bratland, seconded by Mesenbring to adjourn. Motion carried. Submitted by Harry Lekson, Secretary
