VILLAGE OF ST. ANTHONY
• PLANNING BOARD MINUTES
March 16, 1971
1. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Ondrey at 7:30 o'clock P.M.
2. The following were present at roll call : Herman, Letourneau, Carlson,
Bratland, Ondrey.
Absent: Kronk, Parrill
3. The minutes of the February 16, 1971 and March 2, 1971 meetings were
approved as presented.
4. Public Hearings-None
5. Ordinance Variations-None
6. Zoning Variations-None
7. Old Business-None
8. Ruilding Permits
a. 'ob Todd discussed with the Planning Board plans for a home to be built
• on Lot 1, Block 4, Harstad 2nd Addition (2921 Silver Lake Court). Motion
by Rratland, seconded by Carlson, to grant a front yard variance of 8 ft.
and to allow the attached garage to cane no closer than 1 ft. to the 11 ft.
storm sewer easement on the east side of the lot.
Mot-ion carried.
b. Plans for a proposed Kentucky Fried Chicken and P.O.Q. Food Store were
presented to be located on the east portion of the Kenzie property at
Lawry Avenue and Kenzie Terrace. Notion by Carlson, seconded by Bratland,
to approve the two buildings as shown on the plan with the following
changes :
1. Kentucky Fried Chicken building have brick on 4 sides.
2. Proper planting and screening on the north and east areas of the
lot.
3. No blacktop on the east end of the lot.
Motion carried.
9. Miscellaneous
a. Notion by Herman, seconded by Letourneau, to table the sign request by
' Lawrence Sign Company to install a sign on the northwest corner of the
T.K. Gray building to identify the Metropolitan Office Equtpmaht Company,
a tenant in the building.

Motion carried.
b. The request by St. Anthony Schwinn Cyclery for a second sign on the
front of their store was discussed. Motion by Bratland, seconded by
Herman, to deny the request based on the sign ordinance not allowing a
second sign.
Motion carried.
c. Bratland moved that the proposed sign ordinance, either incorporating the
comments from the Village Attorney or attaching them thereto, be sub-
mitted to the Village Council with the recommendation that the Village
Council make available to all interested parties, copies of any proposed
ordinance that results from the Planning Boards recommendation at least
30 days prior to the council 's first vote on the adoption of such
ordinance.
It is further recommended that the Council hold a public hearing prior
to the adoption of a revised sign ordinance.
Carlson seconded the motion.
