• PLANNING BOARD MINUTES
MAY 18, 1971
I . The meeting was called to order by Chairman Ondrey at 8:00 o'clock P.M.
2. The following were present at roll call : Herman, Letourneau, Carlson, Ondrey.
Absent : Kronk, Bratland, Parrill
3. The minutes of the April 20, 1971 meeting were approved as presented.
4. Public Hearings-None
5. Ordinance Variations
a./a. /The request by State Bank of St. Anthony for a display window type sign

by Carlson, seconded by Letourneau, to table action until the revised sign
ordinance is in effect.

b. Motion by Herman, seconded by Letourneau to recommend to the Council that
the request by Orville Hauge for a 2 ft x 2 ft identification sign at
his home at 3300 Roosevelt Court be denied as this would be in violation
of the sign ordinance.
SMotion carried.
6. Zoning Variations
a.� Smith appeared representing Main Realty, Inc. requesting rezoning of
the property at 3901 Silver Lake Road from R-2 to Commercial. Motion by
Carlson, seconded by Letourneau, to recommend to the Council that a public
hearing be held by the Planning Board or the Council . It was also suggest-
ed that if a hearing is held that the property to the north at 3909 Silver
Lake Road be included if the owner so desires.
Voting on the motion:
Aye: Carlson, Ondrey, Letourneau
Nay: Herman
Motion carried.
7. Old Bus�i,ness-None
8. Building Permits
a. 7 Mr. Johnson presented a proposed addition to the rear of W.W. Johnson
Meat Company at 2801 Kenzie Terrace. After discussion and viewing the
area a motion was made by Herman, seconded by Carlson, to recommend to the
Council that the addition of 7 ft. to the north and 16 ft. to the east
of the building be approved.
Motion carried.

Motion by Carlson, seconded by Herman, to table action until the height
of the sign is determined and also if allowed under new sign ordinance.

b. Fawn Sales, Inc. renters of space from Marshall Screw Products, 3820
Chandler Drive N.E. requested approval for a sign 1 ft. x 5 ft. with
their company name and address on it to be located on the corner of
37th Avenue N.E. and Chandler Drive N.E.
Motion by Herman, seconded by Carlson, to recommend to the Council that
the request be denied as this violates the sign ordinance.
Motion carried.
10. Motion by Carlson, seconded by Letourneau to adjourn.
Motion carried.
