ANTHONY PLANNING BOARD MINUTES May 21, 1974 The meeting was called to order at 7:37 P.M. by Chairman McGinn. The following were present at roll call: McGinn, Kronk, Johnson, Marks. Minutes of the April 16, 1974 meeting were amended to read: Pg. 2. McGinn voted "aye" on the motion to recommend to the Council approval of the conditional use permit to Herfurth only if there is a final committment from Rembrandt. Motion by Mr. Marks, seconded by Mr. Johnson to approve the minutes of April 16, 1974 as amended. Motion carried. The scheduled public hearing was delayed to see if Mr. Sroga and other interested parties would be in attendance to present their views. The Board discussed the Walbon request for a public hearing to rezone their property at 3242 Old Highway 8 but delayed formal action because the Walbons w\a not in attenance. • The Board discussed the request of Mr. Sularz, 2524 St. Anthony Boulevard, who requested a public hearing on a variance to allow construction of a porch addition on the southwest corner of his house. A variance would be required as the proposed porch would leave a total of ten feet of side yard and tke zoning ordinance specifies a minimum of fifteen feet of side yards. The Board felt Mr. Sularz was entitled to a hearing and the following motion was made: Motion by Mr. Kronk, seconded by Mr. Marks to recommend to the Council that a public hearing be held on Mr. Sularz's request for a variance. Motion carried. i ''The Walbons arrived at the meeting and a discussion of their rezoning request pursued. Board members voiced the opinion that the character of the area was residential and that rezoning the parcel would result in a Lack of control over the exact type of usage that could locate there. The following motion was made: Motion by Mr. Johnson, seconded by Mr. Marks to recommend to the Council that the Walbon property at 3242 Highway 8 not be rezoned to Commercial. Motion carried. /The public hearing on the Sroga request for a variance was opened at 8:07 P.M. upon the arrival of Mr. Sroga. • Mr. Sroga stated his intention of constructing a house on one lot. No other resident spoke on the matter. The public hearing was closed at 8:10 P.M. and the following motion was made after brief discussion. ;r- -2- Motion by Mr. Johnson, seconded by Mr. Kronk to recommend to the Council that a three foot width variance be granted to the two lots at 3128 and 3132 Roosevelt St. Motion carried. Mr. Kronk is to represent the Board at the Council meeting on May 28, 1974. Motion by Mr. Kronk, seconded by Mr. Marks to adjourn. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 8:15 P.M. Mr. LeTourneau arrived at 8:20 P.M. A discussion developed on absenteeism and it was felt that if a member would not be able to attend a meeting they should notify the chairman, assistant chairman or staff person at the City Hall.
