RESOLUTION TO APPROVE A REQUEST TO KEEP FOUR (4) FEMALE CHICKENS IN
AN R -1 ZONING DISTRICT AT 3626 BELDEN DR NE
WHEREAS, staff received a request from Michael Guest and Kim Borton for permission to keep
chickens on the property located at 3626 Belden Dr NE; and
WHEREAS, the City of St. Anthony Code of Ordinances, Section 91.56, Keeping of Certain
Animals, specifies that livestock, including fowl, require approval from the City
Council; and
WHEREAS, the Applicants have submitted a written request for approval from the City Council,
as outlined in Subsection 91.56, to approve their request to keep chickens; and
WHEREAS, the Applicants have submitted a diagram showing the dimensions and placement of
the enclosure that will house the chickens in relation to their property; and
WHEREAS, the submitted materials show a reasonable plan for the chicken coop location and
design; and
WHEREAS, Hennepin County Environmental Health Division has stated that this matter is within
the City's jurisdiction and authority; and
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of St. Anthony Village
approves the request to keep four (4) chickens in an R -1 Zoning District at 3626 Belden Dr NE.
