RESOLUTION 18 -040
RESOLUTION TO APPROVE A REQUEST TO KEEP TEN (10) FEMALE CHICKENS
IN AN R -1 ZONING DISTRICT AT 2616 27TH AVE NE
WHEREAS, staff received a request from Susan Cox and Jesse Piktuma for permission
to keep chickens on their property located at 2616 27th Ave NE; and
WHEREAS, the City of St. Anthony Code of Ordinances, Section 91.56, Keeping of
Certain Animals, specifies that livestock, including fowl, require approval from the City Council;
and
WHEREAS, Susan Cox and Jesse Pikturna have submitted a written request for approval
from the City Council, as outlined in Subsection 91.56, to approve their request to keep chickens;
and
WHEREAS, Susan Cox and Jesse Pikturna have submitted a diagram showing the
dimensions and placement of the enclosure that will house the chickens in relation to their
property; and
WHEREAS, Hennepin County Environmental Health Division has stated that this matter
is within the City's jurisdiction and authority; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of St.
Anthony Village approves the request to keep ten (10) female chickens in an R -I Zoning District
at 2616 27" Ave NE.
APPROVED in the regular session of the City Council on May 8, 2018.
