RESOLUTION TO APPROVE A REQUEST TO KEEP SIX (6) FEMALE CHICKENS IN
AN R -1 ZONING DISTRICT AT 3419 HARDING ST NE
WHEREAS, staff received a request from Jenna Legatt and Jake Otremba for permission
to keep female chickens on their property located at 3419 Harding St NE; and
WHEREAS, the City of St. Anthony Code of Ordinances, Section 91.56, Keeping of
Certain Animals, specifies that livestock, including fowl, require approval from the City Council;
and
WHEREAS, Jenna Legatt and Jake Otremba have submitted a written request for
approval from the City Council, as outlined in Subsection 91.56, to approve their request to keep
female chickens; and
WHEREAS, Jenna Legatt and Jake Otremba have submitted a diagram showing the
placement of the enclosure that will house the chickens in relation to their property; and
WHEREAS, Hennepin County Environmental Health Division has stated that this matter
is within the City's jurisdiction and authority; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of St.
Anthony Village approves the request to keep six (6) chickens in an R -1 Zoning District at 3419
Harding St NE.
APPROVED in the regular session of the City 99ncil on May 8, 2018.
