A RESOLUTION APPROVING SUMMARY PUBLICATION FOR ORDINANCE 2019-09
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of St. Anthony has adopted the above referenced ordinance amending
Chapter 111 Tobacco; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, section 412.191, subdivision 4 allows publication by title and summary in the
case of lengthy ordinances or those containing maps or charts; and
WHEREAS, the City Council believes that the following summary would clearly inform the public of the intent
of Ordinance 2019-09.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that: the following summary of Ordinance 2019-09 shall be
published in the official paper in lieu of the entire ordinance.

Ordinance 2019-09
An Ordinance Amending Chapter 111 Tobacco;
The City Council of the City of St. Anthony adopted Ordinance 2019-09 on October 8, 2019, this ordinance
amends Chapter 111 Tobacco as follows:
• Increasing the minimum age to purchase tobacco from age 18 to 21
• Enhancing language to ensure that vaping forms of tobacco are clearly identified
• Instituting a fine structure for retailers that fail compliance checks
