ANTHONY-NEW BRIGHTON INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT #282 IN ITS GRANT REQUEST TO HENNEPIN COUNTY YOUTH SPORTS PROGRAM FOR A CENTRAL PARK MULTI-USE TURF FIELDCITY OF ST. ANTHONY VILLAGE STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION 19-080 A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING ST. ANTHONY-NEW BRIGHTON INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT #282 IN ITS GRANT REQUEST TO HENNEPIN COUNTY YOUTH SPORTS PROGRAM FOR A CENTRAL PARK MULTI -USE TURF FIELD WHEREAS, Hennepin County, via its Youth Sports Grant Program, provides for capital funds to assist local government units of Hennepin County for the development of sport or recreation facilities; and WHEREAS, St. Anthony -New Brighton Independent School District #282 desires to continue the development of the Central Park shared by the City of St. Anthony and ISD #282 by the installation of an artificial turf field for multiple curricular and community uses in continuing to enhance its athletic facilities to encourage and expand youth recreation opportunities; and WHEREAS, the total cost of the project is estimated to be $1,200,000 and the amount requested from Hennepin County Youth Sports Program is $300,000. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of St. Anthony City Council approves Supporting the St. Anthony -New Brighton Independent School District #282 in its Grant Request to Hennepin County Youth Sports Program for the installation of multiple -use athletic turf capable of accommodating the continuing increase in diverse youth participants utilizing our shared Central Park facilities.
