RESOLUTION 20-044
RESOLUTION TO APPROVE A REQUEST TO KEEP THREE (3) FEMALE
CHICKENS IN AN R-1 ZONING DISTRICT AT 3509 31ST AVE NE
WHEREAS, staff received a request from Mandy and Ryan Grunklee
for permission to keep chickens on their property located at 3509 31 S' Ave NE; and
WHEREAS, the City of St. Anthony Code of Ordinances, Section 91.56, Keeping of
Certain Animals, specifies that livestock, including fowl, require approval from the City Council;
and
WHEREAS, Mandy and Ryan Grunklee have submitted a written request for approval
from the City Council, as outlined in Subsection 91.56, to approve their request to keep chickens;
and
WHEREAS, Mandy and Ryan Grunklee have submitted a geographical description of
the placement of the enclosure that will house the chickens in relation to their property; and
WHEREAS, Hennepin County Environmental Health Division has stated that this matter
is within the City's jurisdiction and authority; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of St.
Anthony Village approves the request to keep three (3) female chickens in an R-1 Zoning District
at 3509 31st Ave NE.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the placement of the coop must meet setback
requirements of at least 5 feet from the side and rear property lines.
APPROVED in the regular session of the City Counc May 1 2020.
