WHEREAS, in November, 1985, the Cities of Salo, Finland and Saint Anthony Village, Minnesota
recognized each other as sister cities; and
WHEREAS, this relationship has produced many opportunities for cultural, educational,
governmental, social, and cultural understanding for all citizens; and
WHEREAS, this has put a human face of understanding on two far away communities, it has only
highlighted our vast similarities, goals and sense of common good; and
WHEREAS, by this beneficial mutual understanding and cooperation, in that these two communities
universally embrace this concept; in 2025 we celebrate, with the cities of Salo, and Saint Anthony
Village our 40 years as Sister Cities, and
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Wendy Webster, Mayor of Saint Anthony Village, have the distinct honor of
proclaiming April 27, 2025 as SALO, FINLAND Day throughout Saint Anthony Village, MN
celebrating and honoring the 40 years of being Sister Cities.
