anniversary of Tibetan National uprising against the occupation ofTibet, and to honor more than 1.2 million Tibetans
rflho have died in this struggle; and

WHEREAS, The Chinese government has forcibly separated approximately one million Tibetan children, including children
asyoung as four, into colonial boarding schools and preschools designed for forced assimilation, cutting them ott from
family, language, and faith, and causing severe emotional and psychological harm while accelerating the destruction of
Tibetan identity; and
WI IEREAS, In 2025,11is Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama celebrated his 90th birthday, a milestone the Tibetan conununity
honors as the `Year of Compassion', reaffirming his nine decades of leadership and advocacy for peace, nonviolence, and
universal compassion, and calling on communities and leaders everywhere to recommit to these values;
WI IEREAS, The Tibetan .American Foundation of Minnesota was founded in 1992 and, with more than 6,000 Tibetan
members, is committed to promoting and preserving Tibetan culture, heritage, and religion; and
