A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION FOR THE MINNESOTA
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY'S INTENSIVE COMPREHENSIVE PEACE
OFFICER EDUCATION AND TRAINING (ICPOET) PROGRAM GRANT
AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety has developed a plan to address the
critical shortage of peace officers in the state by funding grants to recruit, educate
and train qualified college graduates to become license -eligible peace officers;
and
WHEREAS, law enforcement agencies may apply for reimbursement grant up to $50,000 per
eligible candidate; and
WHEREAS, the St. Anthony Police Department identified a need for additional resources to
aid in the recruitment of qualified peace officers and submitted an application for
the ICPOET grant; and
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety has determined a grant award to the
St. Anthony Police Department in the amount of $34,500.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of City of Saint Anthony
Village, Minnesota authorizes the Police Chief to execute the Minnesota Department of Public
Safety's Intensive Comprehensive Peace Officer Education and Training grant agreement on
behalf of the City of Saint Anthony Village.
