RESOLUTION 26-044
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING STAFF TO ENTER AN AGREEMENT WITH THE
METROPOLITAN COUNCIL TO ACCEPT A WATER EFFICIENCY GRANT
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council is implementing a Water Efficiency Grant Program
(WEGP), allowing municipalities to design and operate their own rebate or grant
programs to reduce community water use; and
WHEREAS, the 2026-2028 WEGP will be administered by the Met Council and will be
funded with $1,400,000 appropriated by the 2025 Minnesota Legislature using
pass -through funds from the Clean Water Land & Legacy Amendment; and
WHEREAS, the City has applied for this program and been awarded $34,000 to be used
between July 1, 2026 and June 30, 2028; and
WHEREAS, WEGP funds will be used to support eligible water fixture and device
replacements at select city facilities and for residents through a residential rebate
program and low-income assistance program; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Anthony Village Climate Plan supports actions that reduce overall water
consumption, increase water efficiency and promote water saving practices.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Saint
Anthony Village, Minnesota, approves staff to accept the grant agreement between the City and
Metropolitan Council to participate in the 2026-2028 Water Efficiency Grant Program.
