RESOLUTION 26-045
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING STAFF TO ENTER AN AGREEMENT WITH THE
STATE OF MINNESOTA TO ACCEPT A LOCAL CLIMATE ACTION
IMPLEMENTATION GRANT
WHEREAS, in 2023, the Minnesota Legislature set aside funds for local climate action grants
to help communities across Minnesota reduce greenhouse gas emissions and
prepare for climate change; and
WHEREAS, approximately $1.3 million in total funding was made available through Planning
and Implementation grant opportunities administered by the Minnesota Pollution
Control Agency (MPCA); and
WHEREAS, the City applied for the Local Climate Action Implementation Grant program and
was awarded $25,000 to be used by June 30, 2027; and
WHEREAS, these funds will be used to support installation costs of two Level 2 electric
vehicle chargers previously donated to the City; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Anthony Village Climate Plan supports actions that promote electric
vehicle adoption in the community and help reduce vehicle -related greenhouse
gas emissions with the implementation of electric vehicle infrastructure.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Saint
Anthony Village, Minnesota, approves staff to accept the grant agreement between the City and
the State of Minnesota for the MPCA Local Climate Action Implementation Grant.
