RESOLUTION 26-057
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING STAFF TO ENTER AN AGREEMENT WITH
RAMSEY COUNTY TO ACCEPT THE BE ACTIVE! BE GREEN! BENCH GRANT
WHEREAS, Ramsey County, through its Active Living Ramsey Communities program,
administers the Be Active! Be Green! Bench Initiative, which supports placement
of benches on trails and pedestrian corridors to encourage a more walkable
environment for people of all ages and abilities; and
WHEREAS, the goal of the Be Active! Be Green! Bench Initiative is to install benches
frequently enough so that individuals seated at one bench can see the next,
thereby supporting seniors, people with disabilities, and young children in
navigating park spaces more comfortably; and
WHEREAS, City staff applied for the Be Active! Be Green! Bench Grant to enhance park
amenities within Saint Anthony Village and was awarded three benches through
this grant program; and
WHEREAS, the benches will be installed in Salo Park and the property owners of both parcels
have provided endorsement and approval for the installation of these benches; and
WHEREAS, the addition of these benches, along with those already existing in Salo Park, will
achieve the goals of the Be Active! Be Green! Bench Initiative and improve
overall park accessibility and comfort.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Saint
Anthony Village, Minnesota, authorizes staff to accept the Be Active! Be Green! Bench Grant
from Ramsey County and proceed with installation of the three benches in Salo Park.
