City of Falcon Heights <br />• City Council Minutes <br />May 24, 2000 <br />The meeting was called to order by acting mayor John Hustad at 7 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Hustad, Kuettel, Lindstrom, Talbot. Also present: Heather Worthington, <br />city administrator, Pat Phillips, deputy clerk, Terry Maurer, city engineer <br />ABSENT: Mayor Sue Gehrz <br />COMMUNITY FORUM: There was no one present wishing to speak <br />MINUTES: The minutes of May 10, 2000 were approved as written. <br />CONSENT AGENDA: <br />Councilmember Kuettel moved to approve the following consent agenda. The motion <br />passed unanimously. <br />1. General disbursements and payroll <br />2. Request to approve the purchase of a John Deere F725 mower <br />• 3. Adoption of the second amendment to the Ramsey County Housing and <br />Redevelopment Authority Joint Cooperation Agreement <br />4. Approval of a contract with Frattalone Paving, Inc. to patch the city hall parking lot <br />5. Approval of a contract with Superior Striping to re-stripe the city hall parking lot <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br />Acting Mayor Hustad called upon Engineer Maurer to brief the council on the <br />continuation of the alley assessment hearing which was adjourned from the May 10 <br />council meeting. Maurer said the continuation was necessary because notice of the <br />hearing was not published in a timely manner. All of the affected homeowners were <br />sent another notice regarding their assessment. Acting Mayor Hustad opened the public <br />hearing at 7:05 p.m. <br />Resident Harriet Balien of 1512 W. Idaho came forward to ask if it was advisable to wait <br />until completion of the alleys before paying the assessment. Engineer Maurer said <br />assessments can be paid anytime after this meeting and before October 1~ without <br />interest. The alleys are scheduled to be completed by mid-August. After a few brief <br />questions by council, Councilmember Lindstrom moved to adopt resolution R-00- <br />adopting the assessment for 2000 alley reconstruction. The motion passed unanimously. <br />The public hearing closed at 7:10 p.m. <br />• <br />
