3060 <br />I~ <br />u <br />1 <br />MEIT ING OF MAY 13, 19 71 <br />The regular meeting was called to order at 8:05 P.M. with the following members <br />present: Mayor iwarkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund and Stone. Also present <br />were Clerk Printon, Engineer Lemberg and Attorney Seed. Asbent was Councilman <br />Taylor. <br />Minutes: Stone moved that the minutes of the April 22, 1971 <br />meeting be approved. Black seconded and the motion <br />carried. <br />American Pipe Robert t~. Pfeffez•le, P. E., Technical Consultant for <br />Cleaning Service American Pipe Cleaning Services gave a detailed report <br />Representative of finaings of sewer conditions in the Falcon Heights <br />Report: area. <br />Correspondence: Various lettex•s of correspondence were read and ordered <br />filed. <br />Justice of the Ecklund moved that Charles Allen Parsons, Jr., 1250 Gibbs, <br />Peace Appointments: be appointed as Justice of the Peace, to fill the vacancy <br />of Judge William Carroll who has resigned due to illness. <br />The appointment would begin June 1, 1971. Stone seconded <br />and the motion carried. <br />Stone moved that Steven Arnold IV'elson, 1720 West Larpen- <br />teur Avenue, be appointed to fill the second Justice of <br />the Peace vacancy which will occur about August 1, 1971, <br />when Judge Joseph L. NTannikko will resign as Justice of <br />the Peace. Black seconded and the motion carried. <br />Arona Avenue The following residents whose property abuts ArAna Avenue <br />Widening Discussion - wez•e present to discuss the results to their property and <br />Residents Present: driveways if Arona Avenue were widened to the proposed <br />~0 feet. <br />David Anderson, 1512 Tr7est Idaho Avenue <br />Gerrit Timriers, 1523 West Hoyt Avenue <br />E. J. Omark, 1512 West Iowa Avenue <br />Dave Hallen, 1511 ~•3est Idaho Avenue <br />Mrs. Robert Kellin, 1513 West Iowa Avenue <br />Mr. and Nlrs. Barney Johnson, 152I~ West Iowa Avenue <br />i <br />Variance Request - Black moved that the application for variance submitted <br />John C. Gohl - by John C. Gohl, in reference to a proposed residence at <br />Sheldon & Roselawn the S. E. corner of Roselawn and Sheldon be approved as <br />Avenues: follows: <br />That the 58 foot dimensions run witr. the length of <br />lot, that is to the east and west, that the garage <br />open to Sheldon Avenue and that a five foot set-back <br />be allowed on the south side of the house with refer- <br />ence to the roof overhang and that written approval <br />be obtained from the neighbor to the south.
