~oa~ MEET ING OF AUGU j'T 26, 19 71 The regular meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.r•Z. with the follotring members present: P~Iayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ec_~clund and Stone. Also present were Et~ineer Lemberg and Attorney Seed. Absent was Councilman Taylor. Minutes: Stone moved that the minutes of the August 12, 1971 meeting be approved. Ecklund seconded and the motion carried. Cigarette License Ecklund moved that the follot~ring cigarette licenses be Renewals: approved for the period commencing July 1, 1971 and ending June 30, 1972: James Segal - State Fair Grounds Charles Volin - " Ted Steichen - " " " ti•+arkentien seconded and the motion carried. Master Gas Ecklund moved that a master gas installers license be Installers approved for the Kimball Company, Inc., 600 North Fairview License i~.eneiral: Avenue, for the period commencing July 1, 1971 and ending June 30, 1972. Warkentien seconded and the motion carried. Parking Lot Art Lindig, 1877 West Larpenteur Avenue was present at the Construction - meeting to discuss various problems in his home area. He . He requested that and Larpenteur: posted along Lindig Street because there was excessive parking by University students which tied up the street parking. He also questioned whether a building permit was obtained by the apartment buildingoYmer at 1707 Lindig Street, to construct a parking lot. Blac:•c moved that the Council write the owner of the apartment buildingin regards to re- cent construction on that property requsting him to appear at the next Council meeting as the parking lot was apparently constructed without proper authority. 1~darkentien seconded and the motion carried. Sewer Problem - Z•~alter Loeding, 1780 North Albert was present at the meeting 1700 North Albe?~t: to discuss a sewer problem at his residence. Engineer Lemberg was authorized to check the sewer problem and recom- mend procedure to follow. Variance :bequest - Mrs. Diane Lalla, 1910 Asbury Avenue was present at the 1910 Asbury Avenue: meeting to submit her request for a variance to install a privacy fence. Black moved that the application submitted for variance to install a six foot fence on the Roselawn side of Rosela~m and Asbury be referred to the Falcon Heights Plani~.ng Commission for recorrcnendation. Stone seconded and the motion carried. • Chair Truck Stone moved that the Village Engineer be authorized to Purchase: purchase a chair truck for the Village to handle all extra folding chairs. l~darkentien seconded and the motion carried.
