~3 <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEETII~ <br />FALCON HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA <br />APRIL 13, 1972 <br />A r~ular meeting of the Falcon Heights Council was calf to order by Mayor <br />Warkentien at 7:30 P.M. <br />PRESENT: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Stone and Taylor. Also <br />present ware Clerk-Administrator Barnes, Engineer Lemberg and Attorney <br />Seed. <br />ABSENT : None <br />MINUTES: Councilman Stone moved, seconded by Councilman Tailor, to <br /> approve the minutes of the regular meeting of March 23, <br /> 1972, as corrected. Motion carried. <br />"Two Hour Parking" Residents of the apartment building at 1707 Lindig Street <br />Sign Moved - 1707 were present and submitted a petition with 17 signatures <br />Lindig Street: requesting that the "Two Hour Parking" sign recently <br /> installed in front of the apartment building be removed <br /> to allow at least 3 or !~ more parking spaces. Councilman <br /> Ecklund moved, seconded by Councilman Back, that the <br /> "Two Hour Parking" restriction be removed and placed to <br /> remain north from Larpenteur Avenue to the end of the south <br /> property line of 1707 Lindig Street. Motion carried. <br />Schiller's Market Councilman. Stone moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien, <br />Sign Request that the request for sign installation at Schiller's <br />Tabled: Market, 1579 North Hamline Avenue, be tabled until the <br /> meeting of April 27, 1972. Motion carx3ed. <br />Garden Park Site Engineer Lemberg submitted his preliminary plan on the <br />Proposal Plans: proposed park site west of the Maple Knoll area which <br /> included the proposed facilities, tennis courts, horseshoe <br /> courts, and other playground equipment plans and landscaping, <br /> which Engineer Lemberg recommended be developed in stages. <br /> He also recommended that the Village take the necessary <br /> action to take bids on the general grading of the area <br /> subject to the University of Minnesota approval. Included <br /> was an estimated cost breakdown which is on file with the <br /> Clerk-Administrator. <br />Committee Fire Chief, Al Helbig, presented the fire truck bids. He <br />Recommendation - recommended accepting the bid from General Safety Corpora- <br />Fire Truck Bids: tion for the chassis with one change -delete front suction <br /> and exchange for additional compartment ahead of pump panel. <br /> The price would be approximately the same as front suction. <br /> Although Boyer's bid is $367 higher than Midway he recommen- <br /> ded accepting Boyer's bid of $1l~,60~. because they guarantee <br /> a 1973 model and because they are locating a new facility <br /> in Minneapolis Industrial Park, and service when needed, <br /> will be more readily available. Councilman Stone moved., <br /> seconded by Councilman Blacks to reject all bids and re- <br /> advertise for new bids. Motion carried. <br />
