2893 <br />MEETING OF JUNE 26, 1969 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />The regular meeting of June 22, 1968 was called to order at 7:10 P.M. with the <br />following members present: Mayor Warkentien, Clerk Taylor, Councilmen Stone, <br />Black and Ecklund. Also present were Attorney Seed and Engineer Lemberg. <br />Minutes: The minutes of the preceding meeting were tabled due to the <br />fact that copies thereof could not be found in the office. <br />NSPCo. Under- Clerk Taylor read a letter received from the Northern States <br />ground Facil- Power Compares giving revised residential rate schedule for <br />ities: services supplied by underground facilities, monthly minimum <br />charges to be $2.00. Letter was noted and filed. <br />License Clerk Taylor reported that license renewals are due June 30. <br />Renewals - While checking on this, he found no license for the DX Car <br />(DX Car Wash): Wash. This matter will be checked with former Clerk, Herb <br />Strandquist, and notice sent to DX Car Wash {formerly State <br />Fair Car Wash}. <br />Petty Cash Clerk Taylor reported a discrepancy in petty cash fund and <br />Discrepancy: an absence of vouchers for amounts spent. He was instructed <br /> to check with former deputy clerks and the matter will be <br /> placed on agenda for next meeting. <br />Rezoning Re- A public hearing was the next order of business following a <br />quest - 1697 request by Robert B. Pagenkopf, 1697 N. Hemline, that his <br />N. Hemline: property be rezoned from R-1 to B-2. The purpose of this re- <br /> quest was to enable him to sell his home to Mr. and Mrs. <br /> Wilfred R. Ortt who wished to use the home for a beauty salon. <br /> After reading a letter from Mr. Pagenkopf and also a listing <br /> of his reasons for this rezoning request, Councilman Black <br /> reported that the Planning Commission had recommended denial <br /> of the request. Attorney George Peters, First National Bank <br /> Bldg., spoke for the Pagenkopfs' listing the several advant- <br /> ages which would come from permission to operatethis business <br /> at this location. Appearing in person to oppose the request <br /> were: H. P. Bruncke, 1710 N. Albert; Don Brausen, 1707 N. <br /> Hemline; James A. White, 1716 N. Albert; Ralph D. Whaley, 1704 <br /> N. Albert; and Mrs. R. J. Roy, 1366 W. Larpenteur. A letter <br /> received from the Thatcher Clinic and a petition signed by 13 <br /> nearby residents in opposition were received. Speaking in <br /> favor of the rezoning (in addition to the attorney} were Mr. <br /> and Mrs. Pagenkopf, Mrs. Dilger (real estate agent) and Mr. <br /> and Mrs. Ortt. Councilman Black moved the adoption of the <br /> following resolution: <br /> R.ESOLUPION DENYING APPLICATION FOR REZONING <br /> WHEREAS, Robert B. and Valerie J. Pagenkopf applied <br /> to the zoning administrator of the Village of Falcon Heights <br /> for an amendment to the Village Heights zoning Ordinance No. <br /> 6l~, as amended, which amendment would rezone property located <br /> at 1697 North Hemline Avenue, Falcon Heights, from apart of <br /> One Family Residential District to a Retail Business District; <br />WHEREAS, the legal description of said property is <br />as follows: <br />
